Sekiro Blazing Bull fight - how to beat and kill Blazing Bull

The Blazing Bull is another boss that's an absolute nightmare at first, until the method clicks and you realise it's surprisingly easy to game when you know how.

How to use a shortcut to get to the Blazing Bull

  • From the Sculptor's Idol at the gate, head straight up the steps and sprint to the rifleman to kill him.
  • Grapple up to the gatehouse behind him. Run along it to the right and jump to a lower tile-roofed wall.
  • Run along that tiled roof towards a high wall up ahead - there's a grabbable ledge at the top of it. You need to sprint along the tiled wall, jump to the brick wall, tap jump again to double-jump up it and then press and hold the grab button (Square / X) to cling on. Press it again to climb up.
  • Run straight ahead and you'll see another grabbable wall up ahead - you need to jump to it and grab (or hang extreme right and you can actually sprint-jump straight over the gap).
  • Follow that hidden path to the back of a tall wide pagoda - grapple up to the top of that.
  • Turn right on the top of the Pagoda, and hop down to the top of the lower nearby wall. You can then see the two guards posted out the front of the Blazing Bull arena - deathblow one and kill the other, and you've skipped straight to the boss fight.

Most people will tell you to use the Firecracker Shinobi Prosthetic here, as it'll stun the Bull for a bit and let you land a few hits easily. Your true best friend in this fight is the sprint button. Lock on to the Blazing Bull after it bursts out into the open and, as it starts to charge you, spring left, clockwise, in a wide circle.

You'll find the Bull can never quite catch up - its turning circle is too wide, so it'll always be trying to turn as you rotate around it yourself.

The Blazing Bull has very high Vitality and a tough Posture gauge to fill, but just the one Deathblow mark. All you need to do is be patient. Try to bait it into a wall or corner, where it needs to turn around to get at you with its horns. How To Beat Blazing Bull Sekiro

Despite its status as an early-game Sekiro boss, the Blazing Bull can be one tough cookie. Its charging attacks and flaming horns combine to create a seemingly impenetrable offense. However, as Dark Souls veterans know very well, no boss is unbeatable. The Blazing Bull can be felled, you just need to know how and when to properly strike.

Sekiro: Defeating The Blazing Bull

One item which can really help when fighting the Blazing Bull is the Fireworks tool for your Shinobi Prosthetic. You can buy the Fireworks tool from a tent merchant shortly before the Chained Ogre boss for 500 Sen. Using the Fireworks near the Blazing Bull causes it to rear up in panic, letting you score some hits. The bad news is that the Fireworks have a very short range so using them can be risky.

Even without the Fireworks there are ways to reliably damage the Blazing Bull. Even if you have a supply of Dousing Powder you shouldn't try to block or deflect the bull's attacks. Magical vegas login. Since the bull's attacks inflict burn damage they'll still deal some damage even if you block/deflect them. Worse, if the burn status gauge fills up you'll take damage over time.

What you want to do instead is try to keep pace with the bull by dodging and sprinting. When the bull sticks a horn in the ground to quick-turn, sprint over to its side for a quick attack. If you move to the bull's side as its turning for a charge it will miss you entirely. Its flank will also be exposed while it's turning, allowing you to score one or two quick hits.

Once the Blazing Bull's vitality is depleted enough it will stop recovering its posture. Keep up with the turning-charge attacks and the bull's posture will eventually break, leaving it open to a finisher deathblow. You only need one deathblow to kill the beast so don't let its seemingly unstoppable momentum intimidate you.
